Head coach Tamsin Greenway says she is pleased with how her new signings are settling in as Wasps Netball continue their preparations for the Superleague season at a Tri-tournament in Bath.

Greenway's team competed in two games, winning the first but falling short in the second at the Team Bath Arena.

Reigning Superleague champions Wasps took on West Midlands rivals Severn Stars in their first game, coming away as 39-32 victors. Wasps then faced tournament hosts Team Bath but were unable to take victory, losing the match 29-25.

Greenway, Wasps director of netball, said: "I'm really pleased we got our new combinations and players out onto the court and defensively I was very happy.

"We have got a lot to work on in attack but that will come, we are exactly where we are supposed to be right now.

"Winning isn't really important in these games, pre-season is all about preparation, working on your play and we will continue to do that in our next pre-season game.

"I say every season it is about making the top four, we did that last season, we want to do it again and then as we proved last year anything can happen on final's weekend."

The tournament also saw debuts for new signings Halimat Adio and Monique Thompson for Wasps Netball, as well as a chance for fans to see Jade Clarke in black and gold.

Greenway added: "The new players adapted really well. Monique Thompson stepped up to the challenge brilliantly, especially considering it is the first time she has really played at that level.

"We were able to use Halimat Adio at goal keeper and at wing defence, she looked great in both roles, she was brilliant. They are both youngsters, they have plenty of time to learn and took their opportunity well today.

"As for Jade, she is just a legend anyway, she is awesome."
