Two time Super Bowl champion Osi Umenyiora believes both Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Giants have made significant strides in the off-season, finding success in both free agency and the NFL Draft.
Umenyiora, who won both his rings with the Giants, is confident that his former team can return to the play offs this season.
"I hope this is the year. What they did with (Olivier) Vernon in free agency, he's a fantastic defensive end.
"Coupled with Jason Pierre Paul and Damon Harrison, this could be a really good year for the Giants."
Umenyiora also highlighted the Jaguars as a team on the up. After signing Malik Jackson, Kelvin Beachum and Chris Ivory in free agency, the Jaguars drafted Jalen Ramsey and Myles Jack, both of whom are considered top five defensive talents.
"I really like what Jacksonville did with their defensive line. Unfortunately Ramsey got injured but I think he's back now.
"I like what San Diego did, and also the Cowboys bringing in Ezekiel Elliot, I think he's going to be a fantastic football player."
