Tom Brady impresses on return for New England Patriots

It was another busy day in the NFL as week five saw the return of Tom Brady, Odell Beckham Jr make up with the kicking net and the Minnesota Vikings continue their perfect start to the season.

The New England Patriots returned to winning ways as four-time Super Bowl winner Tom Brady threw for 406 yards and three touchdowns as the Patriots beat the Cleveland Browns 33-13.

Brady, suspended for the first four games of the season for his role in 'Deflategate', looked comfortable under centre, as he found tight end Martellus Bennett for three touchdowns.

Darius Slay made a crucial interception with a minute remaining as the Philadelphia Eagles lost their first game of the season, going down 24-23 to the Detroit Lions.

Matt Prater kicked the winning field goal as the Lions bounced back from their week four loss to the Bears. It was rookie quarterback Carson Wentz's first interception of his career.

The Denver Broncos also lost their unbeaten status as Matt Ryan and the Atlanta Falcons won 23-16 on the road, with touchdowns from Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman.

Demaryius Thomas scored a late touchdown as the Broncos looked to respond but it was too late as rookie quarterback Paxton Lynch struggled in his first NFL start.

The only team that stayed perfect were the Minnesota Vikings, who beat the Houston Texans 31-13 to maintain a 5-0 start to the season

The Vikings scored on their first two drives, including a 36-yard touchdown for wide receiver Adam Thielen, who finished with 127 yards. The Vikings defence continued to enhance it's reputation as one of the best in the league, as Texans quarterback Brock Osweiler was sacked four times and found himself under constant pressure.

Touchdowns from Devonta Freeman and Tevin Coleman give Atlanta a 23-16 win over the Denver Broncos.

The Oakland Raiders took chances as they beat the San Diego Chargers 34-31 for their first home win of the season. Derek Carr found Michael Crabtree for a 21-yard touchdown on fourth and two, to give the Raiders the lead, before going for two and connecting with Amari Cooper.

Earlier in the game Carr threw a 64-yard touchdown pass to Cooper, and the Raiders are now tied with the Broncos atop the AFC West.

After playing in London last weekend, the Indianapolis Colts became the first team to follow an International Series game without a bye week, as they beat the Chicago Bears 29-23. 

Previously it has been the norm for a team visiting London to take a bye, but the Colts winning without could have positive implications for a British franchise.

TY Hilton scored a 35-yard touchdown in the last three minutes after Jordan Howard had given the Bears a fourth quarter lead.

Pittsburgh Steelers followed up their week four victory with an impressive 31-13 win over the New York Jets. Ben Roethlisberger threw four touchdown passes, two to Sammie Coates, and Le'Veon Bell had his second consecutive 150+ yard game since returning from suspension. 

Ryan Fitzpatrick was interception-free for the first time this season but the Jets attack struggled to build drives and rarely threatened Pittsburgh. Brandon Marshall scored his second touchdown in as many games but the Jets slip to 1-4 and bottom of the AFC East.

Highlights from the Pittsburgh Steelers clash against the New York Jets in week five of the NFL

The Washington Redskins won their third consecutive game as the beat the Baltimore Ravens 16-10 on the road. Jamison Crowder scored an 85-yard punt return before Pierre Garcon scored on a 21-yard catch to out last the Ravens.

Baltimore, who took the lead through Crockett Gilmore, thought they had won the game but Breshad Perrimen's late touchdown was overturned and the Ravens drop to 3-2.

Dak Prescott scored his third rushing touchdown in four games as the Dallas Cowboys beat the Cincinnati Bengals 28-14.

Rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott had 134 yards and two touchdowns, to become the first Cowboy to rush for three consecutive 100+ yard games.

Nickell Robey-Coleman intercepted two passes as the Buffalo Bills beat the Los Angeles Rams 30-19. Robey-Coleman, who used to play at the LA Coliseum in his time at USC, returned one of the picks for a 41-yard touchdown.

Running back LeSean McCoy had 150 yards rushing and the Bills took advantage of poor mistakes from Rams quarterback Case Keenum.

Todd Gurley scored the first touchdown in the Coliseum since 1979, but the Rams struggled to finish drives and were forced to settle for field goals.

In the late game, the New York Giants fell to their third loss of the season as the Green Bay Packers ground out a 23-16 win following their bye week.

Jordy Nelson and Davante Adams put the Packers ahead before Odell Beckham scored his first touchdown of the season.

It was another tough night for Eli Manning, who struggled to connect with any of his receivers. Green Bay nullified the run game, holding New York to 43 yards total rushing.
