The Los Angeles Rams have called time on Case Keenum's season, announcing this week that Jared Goff will make his first start on Sunday against the Miami Dolphins.
Goff was selected first overall in the 2016 NFL Draft, but struggled with the playbook in pre-season and lost the battle for a starting place to Keenum.
However, after ranking last in overall offence and three separate games without scoring a touchdown, Rams head coach Jeff Fisher has announced that Goff will take over, in a "new era" for the franchise.
He joins Carson Wentz and Dak Prescott as first-choice starting rookies, as well as Cody Kessler and Jacoby Brissett, who have also seen time at quarterback this season.
Prescott has led the Dallas Cowboys to an 8-1 start, and this week veteran QB Tony Romo conceded that the job was Prescott's to lose.
