Carolina Panthers tight end Greg Olsen left Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills with a broken right foot.
Olsen, an 11th-year pro, went out in the second quarter and spent the rest of the game on crutches. He is reported to need surgery on the foot and is expected to miss 6-8 weeks
The 32-year-old made one catch for 10 yards in the first quarter of the Panthers' 9-3 win. He had two receptions for 18 yards in their 23-3 week one win over the San Francisco 49ers.
Olsen told reporters after the game: "Broke my foot. It is pretty straightforward. X-ray was pretty conclusive.
"It's tough for something like that to just happen. Obviously it sucks, but I've been very lucky in my career to not get injured a lot.
"This is something that obviously will take a little bit of time, but sometimes that's just a part the game."
Olsen's loss is a significant one for Carolina as he has led the Panthers in both receiving yards and receptions in each of the past four seasons, going over 1,000 yards in the past three.
