Philadelphia Eagles must have known luck was on their side when wide receiver Torrey Smith made a bizarre bounceback catch off Atlanta Falcons safety Keanu Neal's knee.
A first-half touchdown from running back LeGarrette Blount and three field goals from rookie kicker Jake Elliott was enough to see the Eagles home on a nervy night at Lincoln Financial Field.
And luck may have been on their side when QB Nick Foles threw a pass to the middle of the field that Neal probably could have picked up for an interception. But when Neal jumped to catch the ball, the ball somehow cannoned up off his knee and into the air where Smith was waiting to make an unlikely 20-yard gain.
Click on the video to see Smith's lucky catch and then watch the moment when Atlanta had one last crack when quarterback Matt Ryan found Julio Jones on fourth down and six to keep their last drive alive.
But on fourth-and-goal, Jones slipped and was unable to haul in Ryan's desperate pass, leaving the Eagles to run down the clock for the win.
The top-seeded Eagles will face either the Minnesota Vikings or the New Orleans Saints in Philadelphia next weekend for a place in the February 4 Super Bowl.
