Shaquem Griffin is still waiting to find out when he will be selected after the second and third rounds of the NFL Draft were completed on Friday.

Linebacker Griffin is attempting to become the first player to be drafted into the NFL and had been projected as a possible late pick on day two in Dallas.

But his name was not called out at AT&T Stadium, home of the Cowboys, and Griffin will have to wait until Saturday to hear his name called, possibly in the fourth round.

A total of 100 picks have now been made, with one of the most intriguing stories of day two coming at pick 76 where the Steelers started to think about life after Ben Roethlisberger by selecting Oklahoma State quarterback Mason Rudolph.

After five quarterbacks were selected in Thursday's first round - four of those in the first 10 picks - Rudolph was the next to come off the board.

Pittsburgh had earlier selected wide receiver James Washington, who was Rudolph's favourite target in college, with the 60th pick before trading up to land their possible future signal-caller.

The second day of the draft had opened with the Cleveland Browns using their two early picks on Nevada guard Austin Corbett and Georgia running back Nick Chubb.

Teams were also active in the trade market, with the Tennessee Titans moving up to land edge rusher Harold Landry, who had been projected as a possible first rounder, with the 41st pick.

Highly-rated running-back Derrius Guice went to the Washington Redskins, but fell to the 59th pick over concerns about his character and reports of an alleged altercation during a team visit.

After being picked, Guice said: "It did surprise me because a lot of the things came out of nowhere and weren't true.

"My trip to the Eagles was great. There wasn't an altercation when I went. It was great. They were also like family. Me and Duce (Staley) have a great relationship."

The Chicago Bears were also active in the trade market, moving back into the second round to grab Memphis wide receiver Anthony Miller at 51 after earlier drafting Iowa center James Daniels with the 39th pick.

That was one of a number of trades involving the New England Patriots, who ended up only making one pick on Friday - Florida cornerback Duke Dawson at 56.

The Patriots acquired additional picks for Saturday, when the draft will be concluded, as well as landing Chicago's second round pick for the 2019 draft.

There was also a feelgood story in the third round, when the Baltimore Ravens used the 83rd pick to select giant defensive lineman Orlando Brown Jr.

Brown Jr is the son of Orlando "Zeus" Brown, who was part of the first Ravens team after they were moved to Baltimore from Cleveland.

His father, who died from a diabetic condition in 2011, sued the NFL for $200m after he was injured in bizarre fashion in 1999 when he was struck in the eye by a penalty flag thrown by a referee - Brown Sr had to sit out for three years because of the after-effects.
