Pastoral Pursuits, the Group One winning son by Bahamian Bounty has been bought by Ladyswood Stud owner Martyn Meade and will continue to stand at the National Stud.
Pastoral Pursuits is a magnificent looking stallion whose racing career culminated with an impressive victory in the Group One Darley July Cup.
He is one of the most consistent two-year-old stallions in Britain with an amazing 41% winners/runners in 2015, a figure which he rarely drops below.
He has sired 25 Stakes performers to date and this year was represented by the likes of Field of Vision who ran second in the Dubai Cornwallis Stakes (106 OR) and Squash who ran second in the Irish Stallion Farms EFB Fillies Listed Stakes at Newmarket (104 OR).
Martyn Meade commented: "Pastoral Pursuits has already proven himself as a stallion that is really going places and represents great value for the owner and breeder.
"I believe with the right book of mares his quality of stock can continue to improve and there will no doubt be more Stakes winners. There will be a very generous breeder's incentive available for approved mares."
Brian O'Rourke of the National Stud said of the purchase: "We are delighted to continue to stand Pastoral Pursuits on behalf of Ladyswood Stud.
"This year has been a standout for his two-year-olds, and we are sure that these results coupled with the generous breeders' incentives being offered will give Pastoral Pursuits every chance at further success in the future."
