Castleford forward Oliver Holmes faces a three to five game ban for an alleged dangerous tackle on Salford forward Tyrone McCarthy.
Holmes was shown a yellow card for the "spear" tackle on McCarthy midway through the first half of Sunday's 22-8 Super League win over the Red Devils.
Salford coach Ian Watson said in the post-match press conference he thought referee Liam Moore ought to have brandished a red card and the Rugby Football League's match review panel appear to agree, having charged Holmes with a grade D offence.
Holmes, who has started all four of the Tigers' matches so far this season, will face a disciplinary hearing on Tuesday.
Widnes' Papua New Guinea forward Wellington Albert, who was sent off in his fourth Super League outing for a dangerous tackle on England winger Jermaine McGillvary during his side's 28-16 home defeat by Huddersfield, has been handed a two-match penalty notice.
Catalans Dragons forward Jason Baitieri has also been given a two-match penalty notice for a grade B dangerous tackle during is side's 18-16 win over Hull KR.
Albert and Baitieri have until 11am on Tuesday to challenge the notices.
Another Catalans player, centre Tony Gigot, has received a caution for a dangerous throw in the same game.
