Daryl Powell was a man of few words after Thursday night's match

After Castleford Tigers' 40-18 home defeat to St Helens head coach Daryl Powell showed his displeasure with an extremely short post-match interview.

The home side had gone into the Round 16 Betfred Super League match off the back of a productive victory over last season's champions Leeds Rhinos at the Dacia Magic Weekend but came unstuck against a clinical Saints outfit.

Powell's side conceded their first try after just three minutes and found themselves well adrift, 34-4, on the hour mark.

Although Castleford did put three late tries on the board the encounter didn't please their head coach as was clearly evident afterwards.

Powell was a man of few words during his post-match interview on the field and instead just delivered three points before departing back into the changing room.

His side will now travel to KCOM Craven Park to face Hull KR next Friday night while league leaders St Helens will have a spring in their step when they host Hull FC at the Totally Wicked Stadium .
