Huddersfield Giants stand-off Kevin Brown admits there is an extra edge for him playing against Wigan, especially with his brother-in-law Gareth Hock in the Warriors team.
The 24-year-old is one of five former Wigan players preparing to face their old club at the JJB Stadium on Friday night and for Brown it will be his first return since marrying Hock's sister Kirsty in September.
England second-rower Hock was sent off in the corresponding fixture last season for tugging the arm of referee Ian Smith - an offence that landed him with a five-match ban - and Brown knows the fiery qualities his relative can bring to the game.
"Gaz is a bit of a freak," added Brown. "He's one of those impact players you'll not see and then all of a sudden, he'll come up with an offload or a big hit or he will just go straight through.
"As well as Gaz, I've got quite a lot of friends there and it's good that they're doing well. Going to Wigan is special. I've got some good memories there, playing for and against them.
"Hopefully we can replicate what we did last year and come away with two points but Wigan played poor that night and we're not expecting them to play poor again.
"We know it's going to be a tough game. They've got quality players and they are starting to tick a bit now. We know it's going to be close and, if we are going to get anything from the game, we are going to have to be spot on."
Huddersfield triumphed 34-4 in that match last July and have since stretched their winning away run to seven matches, while Wigan made a dreadful start to the campaign and claimed just their third win of the season last time out against Salford.
