Wakefield prop signs two-year deal

Hull have made their eighth signing for 2013 by signing Wakefield prop Paul Johnson to a two-year deal. The former St Helens forward was named as Wakefield's player of the year earlier this month after a second successive impressive campaign. "Hull FC is one of the biggest clubs in the game and I'm really excited about the move," the 24-year-old said. "Hull have had a good year despite a lot of injuries and they've added some quality players to the ones already at the club for next season." The future of utility man Ryan McGoldrick currently remains unresolved, though. McGoldrick joined the club on a short-term deal from Castleford in the summer, but that has now expired with the 31-year-old currently recovering from shoulder surgery. However, it is thought both parties are keen to extend the deal into next year.
