Broncos looking to build after recording first win of the season

Wigan coach Shaun Wane is promising his side will "fix what happened last week" when they take on London Broncos on Sunday. The Warriors suffered a shock reverse at Widnes last time out, the 37-36 defeat to Super League's bottom club meaning they missed out on the chance to go top of the table. Wane opted to rest four of his first-team squad against the Vikings, a decision that back-fired as a young line-up fell just short on the 'i-pitch' at the Stobart Stadium. The Broncos may well now find themselves on the end of a backlash at the DW Stadium this weekend, with Sam Tomkins, Pat Richards, Thomas Leuluai and skipper Sean O'Loughlin all recalled by the hosts. "We will fix what happened last week," Wane said. "I am looking for a response from my players. "The team have trained really well. It was a real physical session on Wednesday and it showed to me the players want to get out there and prove what a good team they really are."

Talented players

However Wane knows his side cannot take their opponents lightly, particularl after the London side finally broke their duck in 2012 last weekend with a resounding home win over Castleford. "London have some talented players," he added. "Chris Bailey is a player I admire and they have quality people in the halves in Michael Witt and Craig Gower, who performed really well last week against Castleford. "I saw them play recently against Salford and they weren't firing on all cylinders that day but last week they showed what they can do." Broncos counterpart Rob Powell, who is expected to name an unchanged side, is hoping his squad can build on their first success of the season. He said: "That game has given the team some confidence and, following a good week's training, we are looking to back it up against Wigan."
