Outside-back Ryan Shaw has agreed to stay with Hull KR in 2017, taking the club’s total of confirmed players for next season to 18, despite their relegation from Super League.

The former England academy international featured mainly on the wing for the Robins in 2016 but the versatile 24-year-old can also play at full-back and centre.

Shaw has now agreed to see out his contract at the Lightstream Stadium having initially joined Rovers on a two-year deal from Bradford.

An experienced Kingstone Press Championship player, Shaw is also a talented goal-kicker and scored 300 points during his last season in the division with the Bulls in 2015.

He impressed on the wing last season before picking up a season-ending knee injury over the Easter period, but Shaw says he's looking forward to returning to action in 2017.

"I always wanted to stay at the club so I'm pleased I've now been able to get everything officially signed and announced," he told the club's official website.

"It's been a frustrating year but the good thing about the timing of my injury was that it meant I could get back fully fit for next season. It's the first major injury I've had, the first operation I've had, so it was tough to deal with at first.
