Trainer Abel Sanchez claims Gennady Golovkin will step up to super-middleweight and clean up the division.
The Kazakh (35-0-KO32) holds the WBA Super, IBF and WBC middleweight crowns and is reportedly in talks over a bout with Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez, whose WBC belt he inherited when the Mexican vacated rather than meet a deadline to agree to face him.
Although WBO champion Billy Joe Saunders and his fellow Briton Chris Eubank Jr also remain options, Sanchez hinted that it would not be long before Golovkin steps up 168lbs, where the likes of Gilberto Ramirez, Badou Jack and James DeGale await.
I don't think there's anybody at 168lbs that's going to give him trouble.
Sanchez told On The Ropes Boxing: "I see Golovkin being a better 168lb fighter than he is a middleweight. If and when he moves up, he's going to be a much better fighter.
"I think he's going to be able to slow his attack down because these guys will be a little slower and he'll be able to pinpoint a little better what he needs to do.
"I don't think there's anybody at 168lbs that's going to give him trouble, either. It's just a matter of getting more belts and moving on."
The 34-year-old Golovkin has not been taken the distance since 2008 and was last in action in April when blasting away Dominic Wade's challenge inside two rounds.
