Rafael Nadal faces the tricky prospect of playing Grigor Dimitrov at the Swiss Indoors Basel on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports.

The third seed has been handed the tough task of having to play an up-and-coming talent in the last 16 of the tournament in Switzerland.

Nadal will consider himself unfortunate to have drawn Dimitrov in just his second outing of the week. The Bulgarian may be the world No 28, but that belies his potential - he began the year as No 11 until injuries and a split from his coach resulted in his ranking plummeting.

He will still represent a stern challenge for Nadal, the 14-time Grand Slam winner whose first-round victory over Lukas Rosol was not as straightforward as he would have hoped. However, Nadal has beaten Dimitrov on all six of their previous meetings.

Stan Wawrinka, the second seed and a Swiss native, is also in Wednesday action facing the uniquely troublesome Ivo Karlovic.

The Croatian is an ace-machine with a vicious serve and Wawrinka, no stranger to slinging the racquet himself, will be aware that his record on home turf is less than ideal.
