Richard Gasquet collected his third Open Sud de France title with a straight sets victory over fellow Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu.

The world No 10 recovered from 0-3 down in the opening set to post a 7-5 6-4 triumph in the Montpellier final.

It was Gasquet's 13th title on the ATP Tour, closing out the match in 108 minutes.

In a topsy-turvy opener, Mathieu saved two break points in game seven and then served for the set at 5-4.

However, the momentum shifted again as Mathieu won only three of the next 18 points before Gasquet closed out the first set in 55 minutes.

Gasquet, 29, broke early in the second and, after saving two break points in the eighth game, safely saw the tie out against the world No 93.
