Maria Sharapova will discover the result of an appeal on Tuesday following her two-year tennis ban over doping.

Earlier this year, the 29-year-old was suspended by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for testing positive for the banned medication meldonium during January's Australian Open.

Sharapova claims her mistake was an oversight because the substance - which had only just been added to the World Anti-Doping Agency list - is also commonly known under another name.

The Russian also said she has been prescribed the heart drug since 2006.

Upon placing the original ban, the ITF panel found Sharapova did not intend to cheat, but was at "very significant fault."
