Home stars Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Richard Gasquet and Benoit Paire reached the semi-finals of the Open Sud de France in Montpellier.

Tsonga progressed after defeating Russia's Daniil Medvedev 6-2 7-5 with the world No 14 requiring only one hour and seven minutes to secure victory. He next meets Alexander Zverev.

Tsonga's compatriot Jeremy Chardy lost to Germany's up-and-coming teenager Zverez, 6-4 4-6 6-2.

There were also quarter-final victories for France's Gasquet, over his compatriot Kenny De Schepper via a 6-2 5-7 6-4 scoreline, and fellow Frenchman Paire, over Germany's Dustin Brown, who retired after the first game with a back injury.

In the Garanti Koza Sofia Open, Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut reached the semi-finals after defeating Luxembourg's Gilles Muller 7-5 7-6 (7-5).

David Goffin also reached the final four, with a 6-1 6-3 defeat of fellow Belgian Steve Darcis.

Also in the quarter-finals, Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov defeated Viktor Troicki of Serbia 6-3 6-3, and Georgia's Nikoloz Basilashvili won in three sets against Martin Klizan of Slovakia, via a 0-6 6-3 6-3 scoreline.

In Ecuador, Victor Estrella Burgos remains on course for a third successive Ecuador Open success as he made it through to the semi-finals.

The Dominican Republican, who is the only player to win the title in Quito since its 2015 inception, booked a meeting with fourth-seed Thomaz Bellucci after beating Federico Gaio 6-4 6-4.

Belluci made it past Renzo Olivo with a 6-2 6-1 win while second and third seeds Abert Ramos-Vinolas and Paolo Lorenzi will meet in the other semi-final.

Ramos-Vinolas beat his Spanish compatriot 7-4 4-6 6-2 while Lorenzi saw off Rajeev Ram 6-3 6-4.
