Highlights of Juan Martin del Potro v Kevin Anderson in the Acapulco Final

Juan Martin del Potro continued his mastery of Kevin Anderson by beating the big-serving South African to win the Acapulco Open.

A single break in each set was enough for Del Potro to seal his 21st ATP Tour title with a 6-4 6-4 victory to cap a tournament in which he had gone through an ultra-tough series of matches.

Del Potro had to beat Mischa Zverev, four-time Acapulco champion David Ferrer, and top 10 players Dominic Thiem and Alexander Zverev to even reach the final against world No 8 Anderson

The Argentine blasted down 12 aces and made the most of two of his three break points, while not even allowing Anderson a single chance to break as he improved his record against his opponent to 7-0.

"It's a very special tournament to me," Del Potro said.

"I beat three top 10 guys in the same tournament, which is very important for myself. I'm so glad to win my 21st title playing in Acapulco."

Voegele and Tsurenko managed 13 breaks of service between them, but it was defending champion Tsurenko who broke three times in the deciding set to claim victory, her fourth on the WTA Tour.

"It's such a special tournament for me," Tsurenko said. "It was amazing.

"It was almost three hours. We both were nervy and we were still fighting to the end. Thanks Stefanie for this match and for this experience."

There was also plenty of British success in the Mexican city, with Jamie Murray claiming another Acapulco title alongside men's doubles partner Bruno Soares.

Murray and Soares beat American twins Bob and Mike Bryan 7-6 7-5, while there was also a final victory in the women's doubles for Heather Watson.

Watson and her German partner Tatjana Maria were successful in their first tournament together, beating Americans Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria 7-5 2-6 10-2 in a tense final.

In Sao Paulo, Fabio Fognini recovered from a set down to beat Chile's Nicolas Jarry and win the Brasil Open 1-6 6-1 6-4.

Fognini, who had not dropped a set all week before the final, has now won six ATP World Tour titles and twice in South America, having triumphed in Vina del Mar in 2014.
