Radwanska, who was beaten in the final of last year's event, broke Johansson five times and won over half the points on her French opponent's serve.
The players were forced off Centre Court as rain started to fall with Radwanska a set and 4-2 up, but the roof was quickly closed and the Pole finished the job off when the action resumed.
Radwanska will next face American teenager Madison Keys, who continued her impressive run with a 6-4 6-2 victory over No 30 seed Mona Barthel.
Elsewhere in the women's draw, sixth seed Li Na overcome a second-set scare to progress to the third round of Wimbledon with a 6-2 1-6 6-0 victory over Simona Halep.
The Chinese star dropped serve three times in the contest but still managed to complete the victory in one hour and 25 minutes.
Unseeded Romanian Halep appeared to be suffering from back problems and called for medical treatment at the end of the opening set, but that did not stop her from winning the second with ease.
However, former French Open champion Li, who has twice reached the quarter-finals at the All England Club, regrouped in the final set to avoid an upset.
The 42-year-old Kimiko Date-Krumm progressed to the third round after securing a 6-4 7-5 win over Alexandra Cadantu to set up a clash with Serena Williams.
No 11 seed Roberta Vince survived an almighty scare as she scraped through to the third round with a 6-1 4-6 9-7 win over Jana Cepelova.
