New world No 1 Andy Murray will face Stan Wawrinka, Kei Nishikori and Marin Cilic in his group at the World Tour Finals in London, live on Sky Sports.
Murray became the 26th player to top the world rankings on Monday, although he already knew that would be the case when he made it to the Paris Masters final on Saturday.
The British superstar went on to beat John Isner in three sets in Sunday's final and now faces the world's third, fifth and seventh-ranked players in the McEnroe Group at the season-ending event.
Murray's record in the tournament, which starts on Sunday, is not that good and Wawrinka beat him in straight sets 12 months ago for his third straight win over the Briton.
But Murray won the only meeting between the pair this season in the semi-finals of the French Open and leads the career head-to-head 9-7.
Being drawn against Nishikori gives Murray the chance for some revenge, as the Japanese player is one of few to have beaten him this summer, knocking him out in the US Open quarter-final.
That was only his second win over Murray in nine matches with the other having come at the World Tour Finals in 2014.
Cilic also owns a 2016 win over Murray which came at the Cincinnati Masters, although Murray did claim a home win over the Croat at Queen's and owns an 11-3 lifetime record against him.
Murray said: "The last few years I haven't played so well there. One year, I played really well and missed out by, I don't even know what it was in the end, but by a game.
"One of the years, I played one of the best matches of the year against Rafa [Nadal] in the semi-finals... I just want to play my best and finish the year on a good note in that respect."
The Lendl Group features deposed world No 1 Novak Djokovic, Milos Raonic, Gael Monfils and Dominic Thiem.
Djokovic has won the last four editions of the event at the O2, with three of his final victories coming over the injured Roger Federer.
Monfils and Thiem are playing in the event for the first time.
Jamie Murray qualified as top seed for the doubles event with his Brazilian partner Bruno Soares, and they have been drawn against former world No 1 pairing Bob and Mike Bryan of the United States.
Also in their group are Ivan Dodig and Marcelo Melo, and Max Mirnyi and Treat Huey.
