Andy Murray says a Sunday showdown against Novak Djokovic in London would be the "perfect way to finish the year".
World No 1 Murray extended his winning streak to 21 with an epic 6-7 (9-11) 6-4 6-4 victory over Kei Nishikori in the ATP Tour Finals at the 02 Arena.
The Scot demonstrated his remarkable stamina to win the longest ever match at the season-ending tournament, lasting three hours and 20 minutes.
And he now has his sights set on a final meeting with Djokovic, who is second in the global rankings.
"I think for the tournament and for everyone interested in tennis, that would probably be the perfect way to finish the year," he said.
"For me and I'm sure for Novak, both of our goals would be to try to win the event.
"For him, whether that's by beating me, someone else, or for me if it's winning against Novak or another player, it doesn't change for us as players.
"Like I said, for the event and everyone interested in tennis, I'm sure that would be the most exciting way to finish the year."
Djokovic advanced to the semi-finals with a closely fought 7-6 (8-6) 7-6 (7-5) victory over Milos Raonic earlier on Wednesday.
