Grand Prix Hassan II: Casablanca exit for Kevin Anderson

Victor Hanescu claimed the scalp of top seed Kevin Anderson in the second round of the Grand Prix Hassan II in Casablanca.

Hanescu saw off the South African 6-4 6-4 in one hour and 26 minutes to earn himself a place in the quarter-finals, where he will face sixth seed Federico Delbonis.

Argentinean Delbonis progressed thanks to a 6-2 6-7 (7-5) 6-4 win over qualifier Filip Peliwo.

In the first round, Pablo Carreno Busta beat Tobias Kamke 6-1 6-2, while seventh seed Robin Haase was beaten 7-6 (8-6) 6-4 by Aleksandr Nedovyesov.

Albert Montanes and Jiri Vesely also progressed to the second round with wins over Kenny De Schepper and Leonardo Mayer respectively, while Guillermo Garcia-Lopez beat Mikhail Kukushkin 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (8-6).
