The Dudley Boyz announced their retirement on Monday Night Raw, while former NXT women's champion Bayley made a winning start to her main-roster career.
Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley decided to hang up their boots having failed to claim a 10th WWE Tag Team Championship reign since they re-joined the company following last year's SummerSlam.
The decorated duo were swiftly interrupted by The Shining Stars but dispatched of the Puerto Ricans soon enough, including cracking Epico with their trademark 3D move.
The Dudley Boyz were about to throw their gate-crashers through a table when they were jumped by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows, who laid out Bubba and gave D-Von a Magic Killer into the pine.
Anderson had earlier been beaten by Big E in singles action - the tag specialist clocked with a Big Ending after Xavier Woods and Kofi Kingston had neutralised Gallows' interference.
Bayley, meanwhile, beat Dana Brooke with a Bayley-to-belly suplex in her first match as a fully-fledged member of the Raw ranks, with Mick Foley announcing her signing shortly before.
New women's champion Charlotte had to watch on as her protégé, Brooke, was defeated and also learned she will defend her title against Sasha Banks when The Boss has recovered from injury.
Titus O'Neil took to the ring and insisted he made the right choice to ditch tag-team partner Darren Young a year ago, before beating up Young as well as his life coach, Bob Backlund.
Braun Strowman decimated the brilliantly-named Johnny Knockout as he continued his Raw winning streak, forcing the referee to count two pinfalls after he had administered a reverse chokeslam.
Plus, it was announced that the reformed Cruiserweight Division would begin on the September 19 edition of Raw, with Brian Kendrick and Scotland's Noam Dar among the competitors.
