Seth Rollins attacked Kevin Owens and was awarded a title match against the Canadian at Clash of Champions during a chaotic opening to Monday Night Raw

Seth Rollins will challenge Kevin Owens for the WWE Universal Title at this month's Clash of Champions pay-per-view, Mick Foley announced on Raw.

Rollins attacked Owens, the man who pinned him to win the Universal Title on last week's show following help from Triple H, as the champion celebrated his triumph on Monday night.

Raw commissioner Stephanie McMahon - who denied any involvement in her husband, Triple H, turning on Rollins - immediately handed the Architect an indefinite suspension from WWE.

Foley, however, overruled that call and informed Rollins that he would be given the chance to claim Owens' title in Indianapolis on Sunday, September 25, live on Sky Sports Box Office.

Owens and Rollins' match could yet become a Triple Threat, though, as Roman Reigns will be added into the bout if he beats Owens in a singles encounter on next Monday's episode of Raw.

Owens recorded a win over long-time rival Sami Zayn in Kansas City on Monday evening, capitalising on his fellow Canadian's ankle injury to prevail with a Superkick and a Powerbomb.

Reigns - who, along with Rollins, was also sucker-punched by Triple H during last week's Universal Title scrap - soon emerged, hell-bent on taking out his frustrations on Owens.

Foley quickly sanctioned Reigns versus Owens for next Monday and although the champion left the arena unscathed, he did see Reigns flatten his countryman Chris Jericho with a spear.

Jericho had also been floored earlier in the night, the veteran losing to Rollins after the two-time world champion kicked out of a Lionsault and administered a Pedigree.
