Linda McMahon has been picked by President-elect Donald Trump to serve as leader of his Small Business Administration.
McMahon, the wife of WWE Chairman Vince McMahon and the former CEO of the company, was appointed by Trump on Wednesday.
"Linda has a tremendous background and is widely recognised as one of the country's top female executives advising businesses around the globe," said Trump, who will be sworn in as President in January.
"She helped grow WWE from a modest 13-person operation to a publicly traded global enterprise with more than 800 employees in offices worldwide.
"Linda is going to be a phenomenal leader and champion for small businesses and unleash America's entrepreneurial spirit all across the country."
McMahon, who stepped down from WWE in 2009 in order to run for Senate, tweeted: "Honored to be appointed by President-Elect @realDonaldTrump to serve as head of @SBAgov advocating for our small businesses & entrepreneurs!"
McMahon's husband Vince as well as her children, Raw Commissioner Stephanie and Smackdown Commissioner Shane, also tweeted about the news.
"Congrats @Linda_McMahon on your nomination. I'm very proud and know you'll do an excellent job," wrote Vince.
"Congratulations Mom, I am so proud of you! President-Elect @realDonaldTrump made an excellent choice for the head of @SBAgov!" said Stephanie.
"So proud of my Mom @Linda_McMahon for her appointment to lead the SBA. #GoMom," added Shane.
McMahon, 68, will have to be approved by the Senate before she becomes the SBA administrator.
