Kairi Sane has won WWE's first ever Mae Young Classic.
The Japanese star beat former UFC competitor Shayna Baszler in the final of the 32-woman tournament in Las Vegas to take home the trophy.
Sane, who signed for WWE's NXT in June, won an entertaining match against her more powerful opponent with a mixture of high-flying moves and sheer tenacity.
Not only has Sane won the company's first ever all-female competition but she's also been granted a shot at the vacant NXT Women's Championship at NXT Takeover: Houston in November.
That title was held for a record 523 days by fellow countrywoman Asuka, who has quit the brand to step to the main roster on RAW.
Her opponent at Takeover is yet to be decided, with Ember Moon, Ruby Riot and Nikki Cross the likely rivals currently competing on NXT.
Sane, whose nickname is the Pirate Princess, has been a favourite on the independent scene for some time after starring in Stardom in Japan for a few years.
It'll be interesting to see whether any of Sane's rivals from the Mae Young Classic also make the step up an NXT Women's Division in need of fresh blood following Asuka's defection.
