For the first time since The Shield reunited, The Hounds of Justice donned their renowned black clothing, walked through the crowd and circled someone in the ring

The odds were stacked even further against The Shield when Kane was added to the list of opponents they will face at Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

After The Shield formalised their return to open Monday's event - the final Raw before the Sunday's PPV, live on Sky Sports Box Office this Sunday - The Big Red Machine announced he will be siding with The Miz, Braun Strowman, Sheamus and Cesaro in the main event.

Kane made his confirmation in dramatic fashion, interrupting Strowman's cage match with Roman Reigns by bursting through the ring and delivering a chokeslam and a tombstone on the Shield member, who retired his brother The Undertaker at Wrestlemania.

Strowman then gave him two running powerslams for good measure before getting the pin in a match which also saw a cageside brawl between Sheamus & Cesaro and Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose, which ended with the latter duo locked in a garage backstage.

Kane made an epic return to WWE, ripping through the ring during a steel cage match to assist Braun Strowman in destroying Roman Reigns

Ambrose and Rollins had earlier successfully defended their Raw tag titles in a typically hard-hitting match against The Bar.

And so the showdown between the two groups at TLC will now be a five-on-three affair, with Kane tilting the match advantage even further against The Shield in what will be his first in-ring appearance in 2017.

It was also announced on Raw that Finn Balor will once again become The Demon at TLC, this time for his match against the Bray Wyatt incarnation Sister Abigail.
