Seeking his first-ever Intercontinental Championship, Roman Reigns takes on The Miz for Raw's workhorse title in a high-impact Raw main event.

Roman Reigns defeated The Miz on Raw to win the WWE Intercontinental title and become a Grand Slam champion.

Reigns adds the IC title to the other championships he has won in the WWE - the world tag team titles, the United States title and the World heavyweight title - to join an elite group of 17 wrestlers recognised by the company as Grand Slam champions.

Sheamus and Cesaro attempted to interfere in the match but were seen off by The Shield and Reigns got the pin after hitting The Miz, who lost an inter-brand champion-against-champion match to Baron Corbin at Survivor Series, with a spear.

Just before the finish, Rollins gave Cesaro a backdrop on the floor and Ambrose clotheslined Sheamus into the crowd, to signal their intentions to challenge for the Raw tag team belts and ensure The Shield possess three of the main titles on the red brand.

Paige returns - with a new faction

The much-speculated return to WWE action of Paige was revealed, with the British star interrupting the Fatal 4-Way match between Bayley, Sasha Banks, Mickie James and Alicia Fox.

Paige was joined by NXT duo Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville, who attacked James and Banks respectively. Paige then hit Bayley with the Rampage and Fox retreated to the back.

Everyone wants a piece of Triple H

Kurt Angle, clearly incensed by the way he was manipulated and beaten during the Survivor Series main event, confirmed he wants to face Triple H "as a competitor" - but he might have to join a queue.

The Game's Machiavellian plans to win Survivor Series for Raw have not gone down well with his general manager or his son Jason Jordan, who also demanded a match against Hunter.

Braun Strowman came out to make it three but he may again have his hands full with a certain Big Red Machine.

Stephanie McMahon booked a match between Jordan and Strowman but Kane interrupted and hit the Monster Among Men with some vicious chair shots which left him struggling to breathe.

Finn and Joe resume their rivalry

The excellent feud between Finn Balor and Samoa Joe was seemingly only on hiatus for Survivor Series, and the duo's disdain for each other has once again been reignited.

They were involved in a typically hard-hitting match on Raw, which ended when Balor seemed to pass out while in the Coquina Clutch.

To the delight of the WWE fans, this is a program which should still have plenty more left in the tank.
