WWE Raw star Dean Ambrose out with potential tricep tear

Dean Ambrose is set for an extended spell out of action with a suspected tear of his right tricep which requires surgery.
Ambrose's arm was heavily strapped during his match on Monday night, a six-man tag team contest in which he was paired with Seth Rollins and Jason Jordan in a loss to Sheamus & Cesaro and Samoa Joe.
The injury was exacerbated later in the show during a backstage attack when Joe slammed the lid of a heavy case onto Ambrose's arm.
WWE confirmed Ambrose is currently undergoing further examination by orthopedic surgeon Dr Jeffrey Dugas, although a tear has not yet been confirmed.
"An MRI has shown suspicion for a high-grade triceps tendon injury, possibly a tear, so he is undergoing surgical exploration and most likely surgical repair of the torn triceps tendon," WWE senior ringside physician Dr Chris Amann told WWE.com.
"That surgery will be happening later, and we should have some further updates either later tonight or tomorrow morning as to what the findings were, what the structures that were damaged were, and also a timeline for recovery."
