Warm up for tonight's episode of SmackDown with the best bits from last week's show

United States champion Bobby Roode will again be on guard against the Viper on SmackDown on Sky Sports Action at 1am tonight.

Randy Orton has increased the use of his trademark RKO 'outta nowhere' in recent weeks with Roode being one of the most common recipients of the move.

Live WWE Late Night Smackdown

Last week the Glorious One was fully expecting Orton to appear and hit him with an RKO but instead it was Jinder Mahal who burst on the scene and laid both men out with his Khallas finisher.

Orton has vowed that he's coming after Roode's title, but with Mahal ready to interject himself, will he have a clear road to the star-spangled championship?

New Day face Shelton & Benjamin

SmackDown general manager Daniel Bryan announced on Twitter that this week's episode will see the New Day take on Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin in tag team competition.

The quintet have been trading insults on social media with the gist being that Gable & Benjamin - former tag title contenders - do not see The New Day as a serious opponent.

The tag division on both brands is very strong at the moment and the calibre of the teams involved should ensure a high-quality contest.

Flair's quest for Riott Squad payback

Charlotte Flair will get her hands on all three members of the Riott Squad tonight - with some assistance from Becky Lynch and Naomi.

Ruby Riott and co were very nearly responsible for a SmackDown title change a few weeks ago when they knocked out Flair and Carmella almost cashed in her Money In The Bank briefcase.

Riott challenged Flair to a six-woman match and the champion gladly accepted.
