Grandeur set to return to Belmont Park in July

Grandeur will step back up to 12 furlongs at Belmont next month following his fourth place at that track last Saturday.

Winner of the Coral Easter Classic at Lingfield on Good Friday, Jeremy Noseda's charge was having his sixth start in America in the Manhattan Stakes.

Given plenty to do by American riding legend Gary Stevens, he flew home to finish fourth, beaten two and a half lengths, leaving his handler to ponder what might have been.

"The horse ran a huge race, but I feel he was given an ill-judged ride. With a better ride, he would definitely have finished much closer," Noseda told his website, www.jeremynoseda.co.uk.

"We've always had a three-race plan for Grandeur in America and we've got July 12's Grade Two Bowling Green at Belmont left. That's over a mile and a half."
