Saeed bin Suroor has paid tribute to Cavalryman after he sustained a fatal injury at Meydan on Saturday.

The nine-year-old sustained a serious fracture in his right hind leg while running in the Group Three Nad Al Sheba Trophy and had to be put down.

Bin Suroor told www.godolphin.com: "He was a real character in the yard and was treasured, not only by me, but by everyone here - all of the team; we are very upset by the tragic news. He had a wonderful career and he will be hugely missed."

Cavalryman began his career in France with trainer Andre Fabre and landed the Group One Grand Prix de Paris in 2009.
