Dave Allen insists Dillian Whyte is wasting his time if he wants to intimidate him ahead of their expected British heavyweight title fight this summer.

The unbeaten Yorkshireman has revealed that a showdown with Whyte is due to take place at Sheffield United's Bramall Lane on August 27.

Allen had publicly called for a clash with Whyte, sparking an angry response from the Brixton fighter who threatened to meet him in a car park and described his rival as 'some guy who sleeps in a bedsit.'

Dereck Chisora turned up at Whyte's latest press conference

But the 24-year-old is paying little attention to Whyte's words and will not be seeking a face-to-face confrontation with the 'Body Snatcher', who clashed with Dereck Chisora at a press conference last week.

"I think he's taken it a bit personal to be honest," Allen told Sky Sports. "I don't know what his issue is with me personally, but it's about the British title, whether it was Dillian Whyte, David Price, it doesn't matter who it was.

"I think those people down south think us up north wear flat caps and walk our ferrets and live in bedsits, drinking tea. Maybe I want this fight because I want to get out of my bedsit and live in a normal house.

All the talk in the world doesn't make any difference. That's one thing that I shall not be - intimidated.

"I'm not going to leave Yorkshire and travel that far out of my bedsit. I'm not sure I can afford the train fare. It's not my thing. I've done talking, but I think I've been quite respectful.

"I can't really get intimidated by such talk, because when you get in the ring you're there to punch each other in the face. All the talk in the world doesn't make any difference. That's one thing that I shall not be - intimidated.

"This car park talk is a lot of rubbish. We need to keep it professional."

Allen had also issued a challenge to David Price in the past, but insists there is no genuine ill feeling towards the Merseysider, who returned to the ring with a second-round stoppage of Czech Vaclav Pejsar on Sunday night.

David Price took less than two rounds to restart his career after a 10-month absence by knocking out Vaclaj Pejsar.

"I would like to take this opportunity to say that I was purely trying to get a fight with the big man," said Allen. "He's a man that I respect and I don't try and get fights with bad fighters.

"He's a big dangerous man, but he's very fragile. That's why everyone fancies a fight with him, because they think they'll hit him on the chin and take him out.

"I wish him the best. He's a nice man and if he hits you on the chin, he's going to put you to sleep."
