Josh Kelly comfortably made weight for his Commonwealth title clash, but Lewis Ritson needed a second attempt to hit the limit for his British title battle.

'Pretty Boy' Kelly challenges Kris George for the Commonwealth welterweight belt in just his seventh fight as he joins Ritson on the same bill at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.

Kelly weighed in at 10st 6lbs 2oz, inside the 10st 7lb limit, with Australia's George slightly heavier at 10st 6lbs 8oz.

Ritson was initially two ounces over the 9st 9lb mark for his British lightweight fight with Paul Hyland Jnr, who was bang-on the limit.

The local man returned to make weight and can win the Lonsdale belt outright with a successful defence against a fellow unbeaten fighter.

On the undercard, Gavin McDonnell and Stuey Hall had no such problems on the scales as they weighed in for their WBC international super-bantamweight bout.

Charlie Edwards also faces Anthony Nelson in a super-flyweight showdown and Arfan Iqbal defends his English cruiserweight title against Simon Vallily.
