Injury rules paceman out of World Cup, veteran comes into squad

New Zealand paceman Hamish Bennett has been ruled out of the rest of the World Cup, with Daryl Tuffey brought into the squad as his replacement. Bennett suffered an Achilles and ankle injury during the Black Caps' defeat to Sri Lanka on Friday and will not be able to recover before the end of the tournament. Tuffey was previously with the New Zealand camp as injury cover and the International Cricket Council have confirmed that he will replace Bennett in the squad proper. New Zealand had already been struggling with injury concerns over skipper Daniel Vettori and bowler Kyle Mills, who are dealing with knee and quad problems respectively. Tuffey, a 32-year-old right-arm seamer, has claimed 110 wickets in 94 one-day internationals for his country.
