Pakistan draw two-day tour match with Worcestershire at New Road

Pakistan’s two-day tour match with Worcestershire at New Road ended in a draw with the hosts reaching 260-6 at stumps on the second day.

Worcestershire resumed at 30-0 on day two after Pakistan declared on 261-3 and despite two Rahat Ali (2-29) wickets taken from 11 overs, half centuries from Joe Clarke (58) and Tom Kohler-Cadmore (73) ensured the match ended in stalemate.

Daryl Mitchell (49) and Tom Fell (35) added 47 runs to Worcestershire's overnight score before the latter was caught by Azhar Ali, becoming Rahat's first victim of the day.

After spending more than two-and-a-half hours at the crease Mitchell was dismissed one shy of his half century when he was bowled by Sohail Khan, leaving Worcestershire 120-2.

But Clarke continued to frustrate the Pakistani bowlers, hitting nine fours in his 90-ball knock of 58 before he too feel to Rahat ater being caught behind by Mohammad Rizwan.

Pakistan had a sniff of victory when they reduced the hosts to 216-5 after Alexei Kervezee (1) and Ross Whiteley (7) both fell cheaply but Kohler-Cadmore helped Worcestershire restore their composure. 

The 21-year-old cracked 10 boundaries, occupying the crease for 163 minutes before Zulfiqar Babar had him caught by Imran Khan in the deep. George Rhodes (14) and Ed Barnard (2) finished the day unbeaten in the middle as the match ended in a draw.
