Highlights of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge clash between Cobras and Lions from Paarl

Cobras secured their first win of the Ram Slam T20 Challenge with a thrilling six-run victory over the Lions at Paarl.

Watch the highlights at the top of the screen to see Cobras defend their total of 145-7 as the Lions let a winning position slip to fall six runs short of the target.

Cobras' innings stalled early on with the departures of Richard Levi (8) and Temba Bavuma (2) before Hashim Amla and JP Duminy steadied the ship with a stand of 87 from 73 balls.

Amla departed for 42 off 35 balls, dismissed by Willem Mulder (2-16) but skipper Duminy notched his 35th T20 fifty before being cleaned up by Kagiso Rabada (2-20), who also picked up the wicket of Bavuma.

Some late order hitting from Vernon Philander (16 off seven balls) saw the Cobras reach 145-7 from their 20 overs but it looked to be a below par total when the Lions openers got going after the interval.

Their chase started in perfect fashion with Rassie van der Dussen and Reeza Hendricks putting on 47 for the first wicket. Hendricks eventually fell to the bowling of George Linde (2-26) for 27 but the Lions looked to be in full control with Van der Dussen reaching his half century.

He eventually departed for 51 off 44 balls but they still looked on course for victory as Mangaliso Mosehle (22) and Dwaine Pretorius (17) put on 35 off 21 balls.

They needed 19 off 12 balls for victory but bowling the penultimate over, Rory Kleinveldt (2-16) picked up the wickets of both, conceding just six runs. With 13 runs to defend, Ferisco Adams (1-31) held his nerve as the Cobras secured a six-run victory - their first of this season's Ram Slam campaign.

The Ram Slam T20 Challenge action continues on Sunday with a double header as the Warriors host the Lions (11.15am, Sky Sports Cricket) and the Cobras play the Knights (1.55pm, Sky Sports Cricket).
