Mohammad Amir takes the final wicket to secure victory

Mohammad Amir can finally move on with his international career after taking the winning wicket in Pakistan's first Test victory over England, says Nasser Hussain.

Seamer Amir bowled Jake Ball to seal a 75-run victory for the tourists on his return to Lord's following his involvement in the spot-fixing scandal of 2010.

"It was his redemption six years on from everything that happened here on this ground - and the team too," said Hussain.

"People forget that Pakistan were absolutely walloped in that Test and you could see what it means to them all.

"He didn't have conditions in his favour here; he prefers orthodox swing but the ball didn't swing much in an orthodox manner.

"But at the end when they needed that final wicket he was there.

"He can now put this game behind him. He must have thought about this game for a long time.

"This is a seriously good bowling attack and they are going to grounds that will suit their bowling attack, as well. When Pakistan get a par score, they know they've got the bowlers that can get you out twice.

Younis Khan leads the celebrations as Pakistan defeat England

"When England were 118-1 when Root and Cook were bossing the game, Joe Root just opened the door for the opposition and that's what you can't do against Pakistan."

Hussain's fellow Sky Sports pundit Ramiz Raja added: "Amir wasn't there in the first two or three overs on day one, mentally or technically; he sprayed the ball around and he didn't seem to seam it either.

"But the nerves calmed come days two, three and four and he delivered his best on day four. He looked confident, he was reversing it.

"He looked part of the side, which is good. He was accepted by everyone, which is great. Watch out for more performances from him. This was a difficult game for him and he's over it now."
