A pick of the action from the first day of the first Test between Bangladesh and England in Chittagong

Moeen Ali survived four reviews to top score with 68 for England as they closed day one of the first Test against Bangladesh on 258-7.

Click on the video above to watch the best of the action from the first day in Chittagong, which included a five-for on debut for 18-year-old offspinner, Mehedi Hasan Miraz.

Mehedi's first strike was the wicket of Ben Duckett (14) - also on debut - and after Shakib Al Hasan (2-46) removed England skipper, Alastair Cook (4) - who became England's most capped Test player in the game - Mehedi added the scalp of Gary Ballance (1).

That reduced England to 21-3 - their lowest ever score for the loss of three wickets in Asia - but Joe Root (40) and Moeen recovered the innings somewhat with a 62-run stand.

By that stage, Moeen had already enjoyed a stroke of luck as Bangladesh opted not to review an lbw decision that would have seen the left-hander on his way and, having then subsequently given out lbw, Moeen successfully had the decision overturned on review.

Moeen repeated the trick twice in the first over after lunch and was also on the right side of the decision when Bangladesh themselves went for a review.

Root, meanwhile, was caught at slip off Mehedi shortly after the interval, and Shakib bowled Ben Stokes (18) through the gate to leave England 106-5.

Another partnership came to England's rescue, Moeen and Jonny Bairstow (52) adding 88 for the sixth wicket before Moeen's luck finally ran out, edging Mehedi behind.

Mehedi (5-64) claimed his five-for by bowling Bairstow shortly after the Yorkshireman notched his 11th Test half century, but Chris Woakes (36no) and Adil Rashid (5no) battled through the final few overs of the day.
