Morne Morkel (4-36) and Jade Dernbach (4-49) shared eight wickets as Somerset, who had followed on 279 runs behind, were bowled out for 210 in 61.2 overs in their second innings.

Only James Hildreth, who finished unbeaten on 89, offered any resistance against a rampant Surrey seam attack.

It is the first time since 1958 that Surrey have won three games in succession by an innings, and they went on to win the Championship that season.

Keaton Jennings struck a fine unbeaten century for Lancashire, who are still facing the prospect of a heavy defeat to Worcestershire at New Road. WORCS v LANCASHIRE SCORECARD

Moores hit seven fours and seven sixes in an 80-ball 87, and was the only contributor to a last-wicket stand of 58 from 52 balls with Harry Gurney, despite turning his right ankle during wicketkeeping drills before the start of play.

Essex then finished the day 88-4, still some 353 runs adrift - England's Alastair Cook dismissed for a four-ball duck.

In the day-night clash between Hampshire and Yorkshire at the Ageas Bowl, the visitors trail by two runs with eight second-innings wickets remaining as they closed day three on 91-2. HANTS v YORKS SCORECARD

Ollie Rayner, on loan from Middlesex, took both Yorkshire wickets, for just five runs in a probing seven-over spell in the final session.

Having resisted on the second evening to take the game into a third day, Gloucestershire's final two wickets could last only another 17 balls as they were bowled out for 250 - Brett Hutton taking both wickets to finish with a staggering 8-57.

It left Northants a target of only 31 to chase and Ben Duckett knocked off the entirety of the runs in just four overs.

Durham, 202-4 in their first innings overnight, opened the door for Sussex as they lost their final six wickets for just nine runs in the opening 12 overs of the day - David Wiese taking four of them, to finish with 4-33.

Still some 341 runs behind Sussex's mammoth 552-run score, Durham were made to follow on and were bowled out for 277 in their second innings,

A Kent win is still the most likely outcome heading into the fourth and final day but, having bowled the visitors out for just 125 in their first innings, they found the going much tougher second time around with Warwickshire closing on 229-1.

Harry Podmore (1-25) dismissed Will Rhodes (25) in the 17th over, but then Kent went wicketless for the remaining 55 overs, as Bell (102no) and Dominic Sibley (82no) shared an unbroken 185-run stand.

Usman Khawaja and Kiran Carlson shared an unbroken stand of 153 to give Glamorgan a lead of 122 heading into the final day of their match with Derbyshire in Swansea. GLAMORGAN v DERBYSHIRE SCORECARD

The home side were in trouble at 48-3 in their second innings - still 31 runs behind - but Khawaja (79no) and Carlson (69no) took an aggressive approach to put the Glamorgan in a healthy position at 201-3 by stumps.

Earlier, resuming day three on 207-3 in reply to Glamorgan's first-innings 283, Derbyshire were dismissed for 362 - Alex Hughes scoring his first century of the summer, only to then be run out for 103 - as they lost their last five wickets for five runs in 29 deliveries.

Leicestershire need seven more wickets to win a third game of the season, with Middlesex 82-3 in pursuit of 381 to win. LEICS v MIDDLESEX SCORECARD
