Former South Africa seamer Andre Nel has received three penalty points from the England and Wales Cricket Board - in addition to an internal suspension placed on him by Surrey.
Nel appeared to throw the ball at Northamptonshire opener Niall O'Brien in a match between the sides at the end of May and was subsequently issued with a two-match ban by his county.
The ECB Cricket Discipline Commission have accepted that punishment as adequate and, penalty points aside, have opted to take no further action.
Nel, whose volatile on-pitch persona has got him in trouble in the past, now has six penalty points, with a total of nine enough to earn a formal ECB ban.
