Struggling Leicestershire put themselves on the verge of their third victory of the LV Championship Division Two season at Northamptonshire on Sunday.
The hosts have a lead of just 115 with just two second-innings wickets remaining heading into the final day.
Wayne White's 5-51 reduced Northants to 162-8, with South African Richard Levi (54 not out) one of just three home batsman to have made it to double figures.
Meanwhile, Derbyshire have set Kent a victory target of 329 after an unbeaten century from Billy Godleman.
The opener made 105 not out as Derbyshire declared on 234-3, with Kent closing on 30 without loss.
Godleman becomes only the fifth Derbyshire batsman to score centuries in three consecutive innings and the first for 25 years
Glamorgan reached 182-6 in reply to Lancashire's 462 all out on a rain-affected day at Old Trafford.
It leaves Lancashire needing to take 14 wickets in the final three sessions on Monday to win after rain restricted the teams to only 52.2 overs.
In the cricket that was possible, Glen Chapple took two of five Glamorgan wickets for 134 runs.
The conditions were even worse in Bristol, where rain prevented any play at all between Gloucestershire and Surrey.
