Struggling Northants have been hit by a double-injury blow with batsmen David Sales and Rob Keogh facing a spell on the sidelines.
The club - adrift at the bottom of Division One - has confirmed that Keogh broke his finger at Lord’s on Sunday, trying to catch Middlesex batsman Dawid Malan and the 22-year-old will be out for a month.
The experienced Sales slipped on the outfield during Friday’s T20 Blast match against Durham and suffered ankle ligament damage.
It is not yet known how long he will be out of action for but with Northants already without skipper Alex Wakely for the whole season, their batting resources will be stretched to the limit for the next four weeks at least.
