Fraser urges caution over Broad

Former England bowler Angus Fraser has warned the nation they have not found 'the new Freddie Flintoff' in Stuart Broad. Fraser witnessed Broad set up England's brilliant Ashes victory over Australia at The Oval, where the young all-rounder took 5-37 to rifle through the tourists' first innings. Having also contributed throughout the series with the bat, 23-year-old Broad is now being tipped to fill the void left by Andrew Flintoff's retirement from international Test cricket, but Fraser insists such a comparison could prove harmful. "Stuart Broad is a different character to Freddie, for one thing I don't think he's as thirsty as Andrew Flintoff!" quipped Fraser on Sky Sports News. "Stuart's a wonderful cricketer, he's taken two or three five-wicket hauls already and it took Freddie a lot longer to do that. "Broad can be an outstanding cricketer but we shouldn't load expectation on him, we want to see him naturally develop and realise his potential. "You have to remember people wanted him dropped after the third Test match, so I just hope in future that people will remember that he did it when it really mattered at The Oval. "He bowled beautifully in Australia's first innings, he wasn't trying to bowl like Steve Harmison or James Anderson, he bowled the way that was best for him and it worked wonders. "Let Stuart Broad be Stuart Broad."
