Bresnan the man to miss out from 12-man squad at Lord's

England have kept faith with Stuart Broad for the series opener against India at Lord's. Broad has struggled for form this summer but retained his place in the starting XI ahead of fellow seam-bowling all-rounder Tim Bresnan. Bresnan was the man to miss out from England's 12-man squad on Thursday morning and will now travel up to Leeds to take part in Yorkshire's LV County Championship fixture against Roses rivals Lancashire, which started on Wednesday. The toss was delayed until 11am by morning rain at Lord's, India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni choosing to bowl first in juicy conditions - a decision that England skipper Andrew Strauss also admitted he would have made. The tourists went with Suresh Raina instead of Yuvraj Singh in their middle-order, while seam bowler Praveen Kumar got the nod over Shanthakumaran Sreesanth.
