Joe Root has slipped two places to third in the ICC Test batting rankings following England's defeat to Pakistan in the third Test in Sharjah.
Root made scores of four and six as England were beaten by 127 runs to suffer a 2-0 series defeat, allowing Australia captain Steve Smith and AB de Villiers of South Africa to climb above the Yorkshireman in the rankings.
However, Root's team-mate James Anderson moved up a spot to joint-second in the bowling rankings after taking six wickets in the match.
Fast bowler Anderson is now level on points with Pakistan spinner Yasir Shah - who claimed seven wickets in Sharjah as he was named player of the series - with South Africa's Dale Steyn still in top spot.
