Graham Ford has left his job as Sri Lanka head coach in the wake of a disappointing Champions Trophy.
The South African took charge in February 2016 and had a contract until the 2019 World Cup, but his early departure has been mutually agreed with Sri Lanka Cricket.
Ford oversaw a 3-0 Test series win against Australia last year, but the winter brought Test and one-day international whitewashes in South Africa and the Sri Lankans were eliminated in the group stage of the Champions Trophy this month.
"It's been a privilege to work with these talented young men over the past 15 months," he said. "Their passion for the sport is inspiring, as is indeed this nation's."
Sri Lanka Cricket president Thilanga Sumathipala said: "This was a decision arrived at mutually after careful consideration and deliberation and we are both confident of its propriety."
