England established a commanding position on day one of the third Test, at Edgbaston, as India's batting woes continued.

In India's first innings of 224 all out, the
odd numbered batsmen scored 193 runs between them whereas the
even numbered batsmen scored just 13!
Sachin Tendulkar averages just 23.80 in the series so far. Only three times has he had a lower average in a series in which he has played at least three Tests:

There have been three instances where a side managed to
draw a series after being 0-2 down.
South Africa v England in 1927-28 (in South Africa)
England v West Indies in 1953-54 (in West Indies)

However, all the above instances came in a five-match series.
No side has ever drawn a four-match series from a position of 0-2. Only one four-Test series has ever ended 2-2 - West Indies v Australia 1998/99
Andrew Strauss and Alastair Cook last shared a century partnership in the Melbourne Boxing Day Test, when they added 159 together.
Before this Test,
Strauss had scored 326 runs at 25.07 in his last nine Tests.
Michael Vaughan averaged 24.20 in his last nine Tests before resigning from the captaincy after the Edgbaston Test with South Africa in 2008 - the worst nine-Test stretch of his career.

After the Brisbane Test in November 2010, England have
bowled out the opposition in 17 out of 19 innings. The only two occasions they failed were in rain-affected matches against Sri Lanka.
This is just the fourth time England have
batted second on the first day of a Test and achieved an unbeaten first wicket partnership of at least
80 runs.
